The ResQLink 400 is ACR's personal locator beacon: a pocket-sized device that transmits a distress alert with the user's position to the Cospas-Sarsat satellite network.
Activation transmits on 406 MHz with encoded GPS and Galileo position data, alongside a 121.5 MHz homing signal for the final approach. Visible and infrared strobes aid visual location, and operation is listed at over 24 hours once activated.
The unit is buoyant. There is no subscription: the beacon must be registered so the rescue coordination centre can tie its ID to the vessel and emergency contacts.
