The eFoil category was defined by Fliteboard, and Series 3 is the current refinement: a battery-powered hydrofoil board that lifts the rider above the water on an electric-driven wing.
The board is carbon fibre in multiple sizes, with swappable wings for different riding styles. Control runs through the Flite Controller, a handheld unit with a colour display.
For yachts, the logistics are the appeal: the kit breaks down into board, mast, and battery for stowage in a fraction of the space of a personal watercraft, and charging runs from shore power. Ride time depends on the battery pack and riding mode in use. There is no fuel aboard and no exhaust emissions at the point of use.
