Feadship has confirmed it will open a second major superyacht facility in the Netherlands, a significant expansion of capacity for the Dutch builder whose order book is reported at record levels. The move adds covered construction halls and refit capacity at a moment when build slots for large custom yachts are booked years ahead.
The expansion reflects a structural shift in the superyacht market: demand for new construction above 60 metres has outpaced the available build capacity of the established Northern European yards, pushing delivery timelines deep into the next decade for the largest projects.
For owners, added capacity means marginally shorter waits and more competition among yards for refit work. For the Dutch marine cluster, it cements the Netherlands' position as the centre of gravity for custom superyacht construction.
