Every brand needs a flagship that makes the rest of the range make sense, and the Ferretti Yachts 1000 does that job emphatically. At 30.13 metres, it is the largest yacht Ferretti Yachts builds, and it wears the responsibility well.
Carbon fibre construction keeps weight in check and volume generous: the full-beam master suite on the main deck is the headline, with four further cabins below for a total of ten guests. The beach club stern and the 40-square-metre flybridge are the spaces where the 1000 earns its keep at anchor.
The design language is pure Ferretti: sharp, contemporary, unmistakably Italian. Underway the 1000 is composed rather than thrilling, which is exactly right for a flagship whose job is effortless distance.
The verdict: the most complete expression of what Ferretti Yachts stands for. The fleet's flagship in more than name.
